About the Presenters

Wethouder Mariëlle Vavier, Foto: Martijn Beekman

Mariëlle Vavier is the Deputy Mayor for Poverty, Inclusion, Care, and International Affairs. Representing GroenLinks, she advocates for social and just policies, with a strong focus on tackling poverty, promoting inclusion, and improving care for vulnerable groups. She also works to strengthen international cooperation and solidarity within the city.

Gert-Jan Aleman has been the director of PEP Den Haag since the beginning of 2023. Previously, Gert-Jan was manager of the Arbo Center of the Municipality of The Hague, where in 2016 he won a national prize as Vitality Manager of The Year. He passionately continues this line of work at PEP, aiming to enhance the vitality of The Hague's social organizations and contribute to a city where everyone can participate. Gert-Jan will offer an opening speech at the event on behalf of PEP Den Haag, Volunteer The Hague's parent organization.

Leontien Kröner - van Selms is the project manager of Symphony 2030, the social programming initiative of the Residentie Orkest (Residentie Orchestra). Symphony 2030 serves as the title for the social pillar of the Residentie Orkest and stems from the ambition to be relevant and meaningful to all residents of the city, from all walks of life. Through projects such as "RO in the neighborhood," the City Orchestra "The Residents," and tailor-made thematic projects with social partners, we aim to inspire and connect residents of The Hague.

We harness the power of music to stimulate encounters and mutual engagement, to shed light on certain themes, and to build bridges between communities.
